คอหนังต่างรู้กันว่า ช่วงสิ้นปีถึงต้นปีใหม่คือฤดูกาลแห่งการประกาศรางวัลทางภาพยนตร์ ทุกๆ เวทีจะทยอยปล่อยรายชื่อผู้เข้าชิงในสาขาต่างๆ ก่อนสปอตไลท์ทุกดวงจะพุ่งตรงไปยังพรมแดงของเวทีที่ว่ากันว่า ทรงเกียรติที่สุด “Academy Awards” หรือออสการ์ ซึ่งครั้งที่ 92 ที่จะถึงนี้ จะประกาศผลในเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ปีหน้า
หนึ่งในเวทีที่ประกาศรายชื่อในฤดูกาลนี้คือ Golden Globe หรือลูกโลกทองคำ ซึ่งก็เป็นเวทีอันทรงเกียรติไม่แพ้ออสการ์ – ลูกโลกทองคำครั้งที่ 77 ในปีหน้า ประกาศชื่อผู้เข้าชิงเมื่อวันที่ 10 ธันวาคมที่ผ่านมา ‘Marriage Story’ หนังชีวิตสมรสสุดหม่น เข้าชิงมากสุด 6 รางวัล, The Irishman หนังแก๊งสเตอร์รสเข้ม กับ Once Upon a Time in Hollywood กาลครั้งหนึ่งในฮอลลีวู้ด เข้าชิง 5 รางวัล ส่วนหนังวายร้ายนายตลก ขวัญใจมหาชนอย่าง Joker เข้าชิง 4 รางวัล
